Start thinking about an introduction on what your podcast will be about. You need to be clear on the title of your podcast, a synopsis (what your show is about), and your audience (who is your show for?)
Download a lame file to let you save your project as MP3. Download it and save it onto your desktop or your working folder. Audacity will ask you where the file is located to save your project at the last part of process. (click here to download lame file)
Work on with Audacity referring tutorials linked below
CHECK THE VOLUME OF YOUR VOICE RECORDING AND MUSIC BEFORE YOU SUBMIT TO ME!! ( This is very important. Sometimes I cannot hear your voice or music!
Fade in and out the music.
Export the file as an MP3 onto your computer.
First, I want you save your project as Audacity file format which allows you to edit the project later when needed.
File< Save Project as < you can rename the file name if you want. Make sure the file extension is .aup
And then, save your final project as MP3 one more time. Once it is saved as MP3, you cannot edit the file. That’s why you need to keep your project as Audacity format, which you can edit.
File< Export AS MP3 (At this point, lame program will come in to play. Audacity may ask you where you downloaded the file previously and you need to remember where you saved it!) < save it to your computer Desktop or your working folder
Upload the file (MP3) to your Wiki (just as you would a picture file).
Log in your wiki
Go to the home Home < Edit < Choose Image upload icon which is tree icon not TV icon. Open your mp3 file and upload. It will be shown as a ‘file’ attached. < save your wiki page
Put a brief title and annotation under the podcast. ( You have to be in ‘Edit’ mode of your wiki page.)

Hello
This podcast is a short introduction to me, Jeff Leitheiser, the goals of the Homework club, and what is expected of you at the Homework club.
First of all, let me confess that I am not really a teacher! I am a Computer Engineer that has chosen to work with students like you instead of working with computers all day long. I quit my job and went back to school to become a teacher. I find that exploring ideas and doing experiments with middle school students are more exciting than programming computers. Especially at the Homework Club because we work together which makes learning more interesting.
I know most students think math is very boring. I think of math as solving puzzles, some are easy, and some are hard, but all require finding and using the right strategy for it’s solution. Math problems are sort of like solving mysteries. The problem gives you clues and you need to figure out not just the answer, but how to get to it.
I know many students don’t like to show their work, but I really like to hear how someone solves their mystery. For example, if Sherlock Homes just said “the butler did it” no one would read his mysteries. Instead he always explains how the butler did it, and hearing the how is what fascinates people.
Because I am older, I have not only struggled through tough classes myself, but I have helped my kids work through tough classes. I know how boring and how confusing homework can be. I know from experience that different strategies work better for different people. I have seen a lot of teaching ideas that work great, and maybe even more ideas fail. The goal of the Homework Club is to help you get through your homework AND understand how you did it. We sometimes even have fun learning by playing games like “Stump the Chump”…where the chump is usually me!
I have been helping Mr. Slade coaching students in the homework club for 2 semesters so far. Just like you, I am here to learn and to do my best. Mr. Slade is very smart. We have fun with him as he coaches us. We incorporate a lot of ideas from students about how to make the Homework Club work better and be more fun. I hope you will share your ideas too!
The homework club expects members like you to come prepared to learn each day. You will need to bring your class organizer, text books, and supplies to do your work. In the homework club, you may sit in small groups and study together as long as you are focused on school work and not too loud.
Please, remember the Homework Club is not a replacement for doing homework at home. Mr. Slade and I are not here to do your work for you, instead we are here to help you understand what you are learning in class better and to help you learn any background ideas you may have forgotten. We work with you classroom teachers to coordinate our work with their classes and to coach you to use the strategies you learn in their classes.
Learning is a continuing process, and the homework club is a good place to make sure all the stuff you learn fits together like a jig-saw puzzle into a complete picture.
I am glad you are joining our club. Welcome aboard!
